IAS/ City U of HK workshop on Systems & Control 8/24-25/2017

Following the CASE conference in Xian, we moved onto the above workshop organized by Prof. David Yao of Columbia University and CUHK and co-sponsored by Prof. Guan rong Chen and Prof. Houmin Yan of CUHK and Chinese U of HK. Despite the title, I was honored to learn that he organized this workshop really to celebrate my 50+ years of work in this area. All the featured speakers were former students (now colleagues) or students of students and colleagues of the extended Ho academic family. I was wined and dined and in fact stayed alert for the entire duration of the meeting and get to learn a great deal of what everyone is doing on the frontline of this disciplinary area. In fact I am a bit embarrassed by all the good things said about me. If my parents were alive, my father would be very pleased and my mother will believe I deserved every word that was said. But it is most satisfying to have at the end of ones career such a send off. What more can one desire?

Now it is onto Beijing and Tsinghua for 2+ more weeks of work before returning to home in the US.
