美国电化学学会(ECS)全部数据库免费开放一周:2016年10月24-30

已有 3784 次阅读 2016-10-24 23:59 |个人分类:资料信息分享|系统分类:科研笔记

该数据库包含:

Journal of The Electrochemical Society, the ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology, ECS Electrochemistry Letters, ECS Solid State Letters, Electrochemical and Solid-State Letters, ECS Transactions, ECS Meeting Abstracts, and Interface.

"ECS is pleased to announce that it will open its entire Digital Library of electrochemical and solid state science and technology research for International Open Access Week, beginning Oct. 24. The library content includes more than 132,000 articles and abstracts which will be freely available to read and download. Tell your friends, colleagues, gra ntees, and other interested people.

Opening up the Digital Library gives the world a preview of Free the Science, ECS’s vision for 2024 when all content will be free to read and when authors can publish open access for free. Listen and watch scientific leaders from around the world explain why Free the Science is impor! tant and why ECS has made such a bold commitment to this vision. It means taking a 114-year legacy of publishing some of the best peer-reviewed research in our field and changing the business model so that the world can benefit from the knowledge created by our community. A community that boasts some of the greatest scientific minds of the last century including Thomas Edison, Gordon Moore, John Goodenough, Adam Heller, and Esther Takeuchi, just to name a few.

Unlike other publishers that commit to open access by spinning off new journals, ECS’s vision to Free the Science over the next decade is to take its existing content and journals and make them open. This includes: the Journal of The Electrochemical Society, the ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology, ECS Electrochemistry Letters, ECS Solid State Letters, Electrochemical and Solid-State Letters, ECS Transactions, ECS Meeting Abstracts, and Interface.

If you want to learn more about Free the Science and ECS’s participation in International Open Access Week 2016 (Oct. 24-30) you can read more on the “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) discussion board on Science Reddit. Dr. Gerald Frankel, ECS technical editor for corrosion, and ECS Executive Director Roque Calvo answered numerous questions from around the world.

Take advantage of our open library next week and share this announcement widely. There are so many barriers to information in the world and ECS truly believes that scientific progress can be made more quickly if everyone can access quality research, especially in our field that offers solutions to our biggest environmental challenges and health problems.
